TOP Soccer

Mission statement:

The New Hyde Park Wildcats Soccer Club runs a program for children with special needs called TOP Soccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer). The object of our program is to offer children with special needs an opportunity to participate in soccer.  TOP soccer is a community based program for all athletes with intellectual, emotional and/or physical disabilities who cannot participate in our intramurals or travel programs.  We try to provide soccer opportunities for players to develop at their own pace in a safe, fun and supportive inclusive environment.

New Hyde Park Wildcats TOP soccer has no geographical boundaries.  While many of our players are from Nassau County, we welcome players from anywhere.

Our coaches have ENYSSA TOP soccer certification.  And all coaches over the age of 18 are required to register for ENYSSA risk management.

We have a wonderful mix of teenage and adult coaches who work with the players one-on-one.  They are typically coaches or players from our intramural and travel programs.  We also have students from the NHP Memorial HS Key Club.  Due to the generosity of the New Hyde Park Wildcats Soccer organization we are able to offer this program without any cost to the athlete and parents.

New Hyde Park is affiliated with the Long Island Soccer League and Eastern New York State Soccer Association.  Athletes must register with New Hyde Park (application is on our web site) in order to participate.

All the LIJSL clubs, which have a program, get together during the year to participate in a tournament.  In the past, we have participated in the Plainview tournament, Commack tournament and New Hyde Park also hosts a tournament.

Our fall and spring practices are held on Saturday mornings at 10am, on a New Hyde Park field.  We do offer a winter indoor program which is a week night, which is held in a New Hyde Park school gym.

New Hyde Park will provide a uniform (shirt, shorts and socks) but we ask that the players provide their own cleats or sneakers and shin guards.
