The U.S. Soccer Federation released a presentation on its Player Development Initiatives, designed to be “a resource for parents, coaches and referees supporting the growth and improvement of grassroots soccer.” The presentation includes topics about birth-year registration, small-sided games, 4v4, 7v7 and 9v9. The New Hyde Park Wildcats Intramural program adopted the birth-year guidelines in the Spring of 2016, but all remaining changes will be adopted in the Fall of 2016.
